The history of the emergence of the Cap Go Meh tradition. Chinese are one of the ethnic groups in Indonesia whose ancestors originated from China. The ancestors of Chinese people immigrated in waves since thousands of years ago through activities. The Cap Go Meh tradition is the culmination of the Chinese holiday celebration or better known as Imlek. 2) The process of implementing the Cap Go Meh tradition includes the stages of preparation and implementation. The procession of the Cap Go Meh tradition begins at 19.00 until finished. About an hour before the procession begins, the temple administrator re-checks the preparations for the ritual procession, in addition to that, the temple guard opens the gate and invites the congregation to prepare to pray. This celebration is often held openly and attended by people from various ethnicities and religions. 3) Cultural values reflect an attitude of mutual respect and acceptance of differences. The value of preserving culture and identity is reflected in the various performances and symbols displayed in the Cap Go Meh celebration, such as the lion dance, and the use of lanterns.
